My mom's advice about cake "your gramma and auntie found a cake place in Lake Stevens. Let them buy your cake, it will make two ladies happy and they don't have much [like that] in their lives" Good point mom. I guess that's a good enough reason to settle on cake. My community is more important than being "original". Even if I do prefer ice cream to cake... oh well. Good thing I've been looking at cutting cakes and have a style in mind.

Typewriters and Calligraphy

Myself, Alyssa, and Julia spent some of the afternoon yesterday typing on typewriters at the Snohomish Type In and made some labels for pretty little things at the wedding. Then We addressed invitations (I bought calligraphy pens and it was interesting to see how Alyssa and I wrote differently with them; Julia supplied the soundtrack and a great SNL video of Bjork where we were entreated to come to Iceland and give them our eyes.) We had dinner with the life group bible study and had some conversation with the Green mommy then we watched 27 dresses while Davis and Nelson played monopoly. A very weddingy day indeed. And very enjoyable.

Bridal Canvas, Picture Your Dream Wedding

There are a total of two images of wedding cakes in my inspiration file. I added one today. Why is this? I originally wanted ice cream. Then my aunt offered to pay for cake. But it never really inspired me. Oh well, we’ll see where it goes from here.

I thought this is what I would look like as a bride. I never expected to go with something longer, strapless, and princessy. I can’t help if it makes me look gorgeous though ;) I still feel pretty evertime I put mine on which is a good thing. Just changed my vision from what I expected/wanted and that has been a bit difficult to come to terms with because all of a sudden my backyard wedding got more formal.
